Napoli Defeated By Empoli, Spaletti Says His Team Doesn't Have Quality

JAKARTA - Luciano Spaletti spoke about the defeat that Napoli received against Empoli in week 17 of the 2021 Italian League. According to the coach, his team's defeat occurred because they did not have sufficient quality on the field.

Spaletti then also assessed that Napoli played unfocused and often made wrong decisions at important moments in matches.

"We should have kept possession, passed the ball quickly, and made them drop points," the coach was quoted as saying by Football Italia, Monday, December 13.

In the match against Empoli this morning, Napoli as the host was defeated by Patrick Cutrone's single goal. The 0-1 score lasted throughout the match without being able to reply to the Partenopei.

Playing at home, should be able to make Napoli appear more confident. But Spaletti said it was difficult because the players were tired.

"We are struggling, we have to run a lot and burn energy. At the moment, many of our players are tired and we really need a profitable week," he explained.

This is Napoli's second consecutive defeat in the Italian League this season. Spalletti's men have collected just one point in their last three league outings.

Because of this bad result, Napoli was thrown into fourth place in the standings with 36 points, four points behind Inter Milan in first place. While Empoli is now in the seventh position with 26 points from eight wins, two draws, and seven defeats.
