BWF World Tour Finals Schedule Tuesday: Indonesian Men's Doubles Ready For Combat

JAKARTA - The head coach of the Indonesian Badminton Association's (PBSI) men's doubles Herry Iman Pierngadi explained that the current condition of the two Indonesian pairs who will compete in the 2021 BWF World Tour Finals are in good condition and ready to compete on December 1-5 in Nusa Dua, Bali.

One day before the first preliminary match, Herry IP supervised the training process of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan at the Bali International Convention Center arena.

"I think it's okay, I was able to rest one day before and only started training today. There are no problems or complaints from them. They are ready to play," said Herry after Tuesday's training session, quoted from Antara.

Based on yesterday's BWF draw, the two Indonesian men's doubles occupy two different groups. The top seed Minions are in Group A along with Kim Asstrupp/Anders Skarup Rasmussen (Denmark), Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin (Taiwan), Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy (India).

Meanwhile, Pram/Yere share a place with Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi (Japan), Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi (Malaysia), and Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov (France) in Group B.

Responding to the draw, the coach nicknamed the Fire Dragon assessed that Pram/Yere's fate was still better than his seniors because his opponents were not as heavy as Group A.

"Yere and Pram's pool draw is pretty good, but Kevin and Marcus, in my opinion, are quite heavy," Herry revealed.

This assessment did not make Herry pessimistic and instead encouraged the Minions to work harder because the players who appeared in the WTF were the best so it was natural to have to meet tough opponents in the preliminary phase.

According to Herry, the appearance of the Minions at the Indonesia Open and winning the championship title made him have high hopes to be able to give their best this week.

"The last performance at the Indonesia Open was fresher, yes. They are ready to meet anyone as a player. Playing in the first or second round, you will definitely meet everyone. I emphasize to better prepare physical conditions and focus," concluded Herry.
