JAKARTA - The Sports Director of Persija Jakarta gave a response to the dismissal issue that overshadowed Angelo Alessio. Ferry said that nothing lasts forever in the club even the coach, therefore the club will still carry out an evaluation.

“(Regarding the dismissal) I cannot comment yet. Nothing lasts forever, not just coaches, but players too. The eternal one is Persija", said Ferry Paulus in a statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 30.

The issue of dismissal that looms over Alessio cannot be separated from Persija's inconsistent performance until the 14th week of the 2021 Liga 1 competition. Under Alessio's tutelage, the Kemayoran Tigers have only recorded four wins, six draws, and four defeats.

Most recently, Persija Jakarta again swallowed up defeat against Borneo FC. Though the meeting could be momentum to spur enthusiasm to rise. Because the match was held one day after Persija celebrated its 93rd anniversary.

Because the team's performance is still up and down, Ferry does not deny that there will be an evaluation to see the fate of Alessio.

"We are talking today (Tuesday), day to day evaluations are made by the club president, manager, and several talent scouting or teams that evaluate it", explained Ferry.

In the evaluation process later, Ferry admitted that he had to be fair in assessing Alessio's performance. According to him, several factors make the performance of the Italian coach look not optimal.

First, Ferry assessed that Alessio did not have enough time to prepare the team ahead of the start of League 1 this season. This is because Alessio has just started leading the Kemayoran Tigers' inaugural practice on June 18, 2021.

Not even a month in charge of the team, Alessio chose to return to his country, Italy. This coincided with the decision of PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to postpone the kick-off of this season's Liga 1 on July 9 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, after the situation improved, Alessio actually found it difficult to return to Indonesia. This is because there are restrictions on foreigners entering Indonesia.

The former assistant to Antonio Conte was only able to return to lead Persija training on September 3. That is, only two days before Perdija appeared to play the match against PSS Sleman.

"With these obstacles, practically preparation is only at the end when the competition will roll out. So it's not fair if we think (Alessio) is like playing magic", said Ferry.

From Alessio's side, the coach seems to have resigned himself to the team's decision if he had to throw him out. It is considered as a consequence of work.
