If You Continue To Be Inconsistent Due To Personal Problems, Nova Widianto Invites Praveen/Melati To Leave The National Training Center

JAKARTA - Indonesia's mixed doubles coach, Nova Widianto is still highlighting the inconsistent performances of Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti at the Indonesia Masters 2021. If it is true that this was triggered by personal problems, Nova invites them to leave the national training.

"They are already seniors, if for example they (feel) there are other options, it's better to go outside (the training)", Nova said in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, November 19.

What Nova revealed was following the poor results achieved by Praveen / Melati in the last 32 of the Indonesia Masters 2021. They were defeated by the 178th ranked pair from India, Dhruv Kapila / Reddy N. Sikki, with a score of 11-21, 20-22.

It was not defeated that was the focus of the coach, but Praveen/Melati was considered not to show real communication during the match. Praveen/Melati seemed to be playing individually.

This condition raised rumors that the two of them had poor communication due to personal problems off the field. Moreover, the unkind gesture also began to appear when they appeared at the 2021 French Open.

"This is not a communication problem. They have a problem to solve. Don't bring personal problems to the field", Nova said.

Furthermore, the coach admitted that he had communicated this issue with the Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI.

If he wanted, Nova could actually remodel the mixed doubles duo and pair each one with another partner. But so far he has no plans to separate the couple who have been performing together since 2018.

"We'll see how it goes in the future. But I answered, the possibility that if we split (separating Praveen/Melati) this might precede it, I don't think so", he continued.

Even though she has some unique things about Praveen/Melati's appearance, Nova also doesn't turn a blind eye to the achievements of her foster children.

"Actually, if you want to be honest, they are still the best", he said.

Nova also can't forbid if, in the end, this situation makes Praveen/Melati have to break up the partnership. For him, the most important thing is that they can control their mood when competing.

"But if there is a possibility that they can develop more outside, yes, actually we as coaches don't have a problem", said Nova.

"However, as coaches, we also don't want them to continue like this. If possible, be consistent."

"In a situation where the term is not in the mood, they have to endure and find a gap. Don't give up on the situation, I've said that several times", said the coach.
