Just Bring Two Goalkeepers To Turkey, Shin Tae-Yong: It's League And PSSI Agreement

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will go to Turkey to conduct a test ahead of the 2020 AFF Cup. Before leaving, a number of players have been selected to fill the Garuda squad and attend the training camp (TC).

In the exercise that was held at Field B Senayan, Tuesday night, there was something different compared to the previous one. This time coach Shin Tae-yong only included two goalkeepers instead of four or five.

The South Korean coach entrusted M Riyandi and Syahrul Trisna Fadillah to guard the Garuda squad's goal. Regarding this decision, Shin Tae-yong has his own explanation.

According to him, it has become an agreement made by PSSI and the Club.

"So, the previous talks were indeed the federation and the League had obstacles, because we did have an agreement between PSSI and the League. That each team can only be called up (to the national team) a maximum of two players," said Shin Tae-yong after leading his team to practice last night.

Although only allowed to bring two goalkeepers, Shin Tae-yong believes they can give their best. The coach is also not too worried, because they will only undergo a test match in Turkey.

For the appearance at AFF 2020 later, Shin Tae-yong emphasized that later there may be additional players.

"Going to Turkey (for the trial) may be only two goalkeepers, but if you go to Singapore there will definitely be more and that's the agreement," said Shin Tae-yong.

"After this, we can call more than two names for each team," he said.

The Indonesian national team is scheduled to leave for Turkey on Thursday tomorrow. While in Turkey, the Garuda squad will undergo two trials, namely against Afghanistan and Myanmar.
