Officially Opened, GIIAS Semarang Is Expected To Be An Encouragement For Automotive Potential In Central Java

JAKARTA - GIIAS Semarang 2023 officially opened today, Wednesday, October 18 by the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier and the Regional Secretariat of Central Java Province, Sumarno.

The exhibition, which runs until October 22, 2023, is a proud moment, where participant enthusiasm has increased significantly from last year.

GAIKINDO Chairman Yohannes Nangoi in his speech said that the enthusiasm of the more lively GIIAS Semarang 2023 participants could be an impetus for the potential of the national automotive industry, especially in Central Java.

"In accordance with GAIKINDO's mission, GIIAS is an event to show the development of the Indonesian automotive industry, providing appropriate education for the community as well as an impetus for growth," he said, in an official statement received by VOI.ID, Wednesday, October 18.

On this occasion GIIAS Semarang 2023 presented approximately ten new vehicle models from the automotive Brand Holder Agent, which was previously introduced for the first time at the 30th GIIAS 2023 in BSD, Tangerang Regency.

Representing the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, the Director General of ILMATE congratulated the implementation of GIIAS Semarang 2023, which is the third city in the GIIAS The Series 2023 series.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation to the organizers and all the leaders of the automotive manufacturer who have been present and are part of GIIAS Semarang 2023," said Taufiek.

Lebih lanjut Taufiek juga mengatakan bahwa pemerintah terus melakukan evaluasi, dan upaya demi mempercecet pemetukan ekosistem EV sebagai bentuk dukungan industri dalam pemenuhi komitmen pemerintah untuk menurunkan gas emisi.

The opening of the GIIAS Semarang 2023 exhibition which will last until October 22, 2023 at the Marina Convention Center is also accompanied by the Director of Traffic of the Central Java Police, Agus Suryo, Head of the Central Java Provincial Bapenda, Nadi Santoso, General Chair of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi and Chairman III of GAIKINDO, Rizwan Alamsjah.

A total of 30 participating brands from various automotive industry lines took part in GIIAS Semarang 2023, including 14 motorized vehicle brands, including 10 passenger vehicle brands, four two-wheeled vehicles and also other supporting industries.
