JAKARTA The greener future of public transportation is now getting closer. Daimler Buses, through the Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands, is ready to steal attention at Europe 2025's Busworld event which was held October 4'9 in Brussels. With a series of major breakthroughs in electrification, battery technology, and digital services, Daimler Buses affirms its commitment as a pioneer of greener, smarter, and sustainable public transportation.

The main highlights of course the world's inaugural launch of Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, the first full-electric intercity bus from Daimler Buses. Based on the intouro platform with the diesel engine that has proven to be resilient, eIntouro comes with electric motors and LFP batteries, and is available in two variants of length 12.18 meters and 13.09 meters (eIntouro M). Interestingly, eIntouro became the first bus in Europe to support over-the-air software updates, just like modern smartphones, without the need to go to the workshop.

At Busworld Europe 2025, Daimler Buses will be excited a total of eight innovative buses from Mercedes-Benz and Setra.

It doesn't stop there, quoted from the manufacturer's global release, Thursday, July 24, Daimler Buses also introduced the latest battery generation, NMC4, which will be used from 2026 on the eCitaro and eCitaro Fuel Cell models. This battery offers a higher energy density for longer range, as well as long lifespan thanks to fast charging capabilities of up to 300 kW. This innovation is supported by full-sale services such as battery reconditioning and battery replacement programs, as part of an e-service offensive'' strategy to ensure the maximum endurance of electric buses.

To support the overall adoption of electric vehicles, Daimler Buses also launched the Omniplus Charge, a complete solution for the planning and construction of electromobility and hydrogen (H2) infrastructure. This service includes feasibility studies, charging installations, energy storage, charging management, and digital integration. On the digital service side, all new buses, both electricity and diesel, will start this year, obtaining a free Digital Service Package for 3 to 6 years.

Other digital breakthroughs include over-the-air software updates, automatic speed geofencing, and Battery Monitoring which provide real-time battery conditions information and optimal usage recommendations. The Warning Status feature is now available to ensure users remain under official guarantee protection.
