Toyota Reportedly Prepares Production Version Of X-Van Gear Concept

JAKARTA - Do you still remember Toyota X-Van Gear Concept, which debuted for the first time in 2023? Yes, the automotive giant from Japan is reportedly preparing a production version.

Based on Carscoops' report, the Japanese brand updated the concept in 2024 and the image leaked on social media, but Toyota has not provided any statement regarding the production of the concept version.

But the rumors resurfaced to the surface with local Japanese media Motor Fan citing from one of the sources, that the minivan is likely to debut in October 2025 or spring 2026.

If really produced, X-Van Gear will offer a more resilient alternative to Noah and Vexy models that have mechanical similarities. Although built on the same platform, this concept stands out in its more boxy shape, thick plastic body coating, and outdoor characters. The dimensions are the same as Noah and Vexy, which are 4,695 mm long with a wheel axis distance of 2,850 mm.

Rumors say the production version will closely follow the design of the concept, including its signature double sliding door. The possibility of the absence of pillar B can make access and a more flexible interior space, especially useful for camping or family events.

This car cabin also maintains a three-line layout but its cabin is also presented very flexible so users can reconfigurate it. The futuristic dashboard seen in this concept is likely to disappear for production, replaced with a more practical digital screen and a touch of smart storage.

The X-Van Gear production version is expected to use the same base as Noah and Vexy introduced in 2022. These models use a long version of the TNGA-C architecture and are powered by a 2.0-liter or 1.8-liter hybrid four-cylindrical gas engine. Both machine options are available with 4WD driving.
