BANDUNG - The appearance of Dewa 19 featuring Virzha closed the first day of the Gedebage Jazz Festival International 2026 which was held at Summarecon Mall Bandung on Saturday, June 27.

In front of thousands of spectators who filled the main stage area of Sawarga Courtyard, Ahmad Dhani et al. completed Indra Lesmana Sydney Reunion's performance, which first featured its magic.

Dewa 19 opened the performance with "Cinta Gila", with Dhani as the vocalist. The appearance of the musician, who is also a member of the Indonesian Parliament, was greeted by the audience who had been waiting for him.

After opening the performance, Virzha then appeared as the frontman. Together with the Indonesian Idol singer, Dewa 19 performed a number of hit songs, such as "Dua Sejoli", "Separuh Nafas", "Kosong", to cover the song "I Want to Break Free" by Queen.

Then Dhani took over the stage again. He wanted to offer something different from the previous performers. Instead of performing jazz, the musician from Surabaya brought "Sedang Ingin Bercinta" which has a strong dangdut feel.

"If this song (Sedang Ingin Bercinta), the dangdut audience actually likes it the most," said Dhani.

Not stopping there, Dhani who still holds the stage again brought a song still thick with the feel of dangdut, "Madu Tiga".

"Yes, this is a jazz festival, but it's okay if I bring dangdut. This is called jazz crossover," he joked.

Even though it was relatively short and without extra effort to present a jazz arrangement, the presence of Dewa 19 that night proved to be successful in enlivening the event.

Thousands of spectators were immersed in singing every verse of the song.

In addition to the names mentioned above, the main stage of the first day of the Gedebage Jazz Festival International 2026 also presents Barry Likumahuwa & The Rhythm Service, Saung Angklung Udjo, Andrea Cui and Julian Chan ft. KLCBS Project, Syaharani ft. Bandung Jazz Orchestra.

The Gedebage Jazz Festival International 2026 is still going on until today. The main stage will feature B.A.E, Takahiro Miyazaki, Krakatau, Erwin Gutawa tribute to January Christy, Jazzbois, to Maliq & D'Essentials.
