Here's The Right Way To Check The Radiator's Water When The Car's Condition Is Overheated

The Radiator is one of the important components of the car that functions as an engine cooling system. This section cooperates with a number of other devices, including radiator water or coolant.

When the engine is turned on, the temperature on the radiator water will automatically increase and of course it can harm users when they want to check their condition after using their vehicle.

Of the few cases that occurred, the radiator water would be splashed out and dangerous due to its hot temperature. Then, what is the correct way to check the condition of the radiator water after driving the car in an overheat state?

Technical Team Aftersales Support Dept Auto2000 Gesang Pranoto, said that vehicle users must wait for their coolant water temperature to drop first and don't open immediately in hot conditions.

"Zaman now has an indicator light to find out the temperature of the coolant water, after that wait for the temperature to drop first before checking and don't open it immediately because it will spray it out," said Gesang when met in East Bekasi, recently.

He also suggested that if the temperature decreases for a while, then it can be cooled by watering the radiator first or opening the lid of the radiator with a cloth that has been wetted.

"If it takes a while, it can be cooled by watering or if it can open the lid, it will be intertwined with a wet cloth," added Gesang.

Gesang also appealed when opening the radiator lid gradually. The first step is to open slowly until it emits steam and after the vapor runs out, it is safe to open.

"That should be opened in one stage first until later the steam runs out. After that, it can only be opened. God willing, it will be safe," explained Gesang.

Gesang explained that this step had to be taken because the radiator cap was functioning in maintaining the temperature pressure from the coolant water and if it was opened directly, the pressure would automatically drive the hot vapor, causing the water to be pushed out.

"When the heat is suddenly opened, the pressure will automatically drive hot steam or if there is water, the liquid will overflow out and potentially hit the body or hands," concluded Gesang.
