JAKARTA - Sudaryono admitted that he only knew about his appointment as Head of the National Nutrition Agency on Tuesday evening. A day later, he was summoned to the Palace to be inaugurated to replace Nanik S. Deyang who resigned for health reasons.

Sudaryono said the initial information was conveyed by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. The certainty of the new inauguration was received by telephone from the Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Wednesday morning.

"Just last night. This morning I was called by the Secretary of the Cabinet and confirmed that today I would be officially inaugurated to replace Ms. Nani," said Sudaryono at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (22/7).

He denied having been appointed since July 8. According to Sudaryonio, the decision was only conveyed to him less than a day before the inauguration.

Sudaryono also ensured that he did not hold the position as Deputy Minister of Agriculture. He left the position after being entrusted to lead BGN.

"I am leaving the position of Wamentan, which means it is empty. So it's not that I am holding a position," he said.

According to Sudaryono, filling the Deputy Minister of Agriculture seat is entirely the prerogative of President Prabowo Subianto.

He assessed that the change of leadership of the BGN would not interfere with coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture. Both institutions have worked together since the Free Nutritious Meal program was led by Dadan Hindayana.

Sudaryono said that coordination would continue because food supplies were an important part of the implementation of MBG.

He will also ask for input from Nanik, who previously served as deputy head and head of BGN.

"Bu Nani has experience as deputy head and also head. We will definitely listen to the input," he said.
