JAKARTA - As an effort to increase the production capacity of the SU7 electric sedan, the Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has added its battery suppliers to the entry level variant.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Monday, May 27, previously, the main supplier of batteries for its entry level variant from the Findreams battery manufacturing branch of BYD, now Xiaomi uses batteries from CATL.

"Both batteries for the entry level variant come from industry's leading battery cell suppliers," Xiaomi said in a Weibo post.

The standard version or SU7 level entry is powered by a chemical-based BYD blade battery lithium iron phosphate (LFP) with a capacity of 73.6 kWh and a range of 700 kilometers CLTC, and now added suppliers from CATL.

Meanwhile, the Pro-powered Shenxing version of the CATL-based chemical LFP has a capacity of 94.3 kWh and a CLTC range of 830 km. Xiaomi SU7 Max is powered by CATL Qilin batteries with a capacity of 101 kWh and a CLTC range of 800 kilometers.
