Hit By Supply Obstacles, Daimler Truck Still Records An Increase In Sales At Global Markets In 2023

JAKARTA - Daimler Truck recorded an increase in unit sales worldwide by 2023, despite supply constraints in some areas.

According to the data received, a total of 526,053 trucks and buses have been sold. This figure is up compared to 2022 which only reached 520,291 units.

In addition, the company has sold 3,443 units of electric-battered vehicles, 277% more than the previous year which only reached 914 units, an increasing number from year to year.

Martin Daum, CEO of Daimler Truck Holding AG, stated, In 2023, the company will again increase sales and firmly believe it can achieve the company's financial ambitions throughout 2023.

"The sale of electric batteries has more than tripled compared to the previous year. Throughout 2023, we have expanded the portfolio of electric-carryed vehicle products for our customers to ten different models," he said, in an official statement received on Tuesday, February 6.

In more detail, the North American segment increased its unit sales by 4 percent to 195,014 units. The Mercedes-Benz segment sold 158,511 units (-5 percent), due to weak market developments in Brazil. The Asian segment increased its unit sales by 3 percent compared to the previous year to 161,171 units. Daimler Buses recorded the strongest sales results of 26,168 units (+9 percent).

"This is the foundation for continuing to grow in the future and affirming our aspirations to lead future transportation," he added.

Regarding detailed financial reports and the development of Daimler Truck, both at the group level and at each segment during 2023, it will be reported in the Annual Consult Conference which will be carried out virtually on March 1, 2024. In the Annual Consult Conference, Daimler Truck projection will also be delivered for 2024.
