Toyota Welcomes Government's Hybrid Incentives

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) welcomes the incentives for hybrid vehicles in Indonesia which have been announced to take effect next year.

This was revealed by the Vice President Director of PT TAM Henry Tanoto, in the media gathering, in Jakarta. He expressed his joy because of the incentives.

"We have to be happy, meaning it shows that the hybrid is indeed seen as one of the technologies that can also help the government achieve important things," he said, when met in the Jakarta area, Tuesday, December 17.

He further said that the provision of these incentives would also have a good impact on efforts to increase environmentally friendly vehicle users. In fact, it is revealed that it can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50 percent and reduce carbon emissions by almost 50 percent when compared to the use of vehicles with internal combustion engines.

"This is certainly very good because it not only encourages consumers to switch to environmentally friendly vehicles but also provides a positive impetus for the development of the Indonesian automotive industry," he added.

Previously, VOI confirmed the Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor Anton Jimmy Suwandy revealed that incentives for hybrids were good news.

"Obviously good news, for the support of the national automotive industry and the support of environmentally friendly HEV cars," said Anton Jimmy.

When asked about the launch of another hybrid model next year due to this incentive, he could not comment in detail.

"I can't comment on the details for new products yet," he concluded.
