Cristiano Ronaldo's Ambition Has No Final Line After The New Deal With Al Nassr

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo said his ambition was no endline after signing a new contract with Al Nassr.

The Portugal captain on Thursday, June 26, 2025, local time, signed a two-year contract that will keep him in the Saudi Arabian Pro League (SPL) until June 2027.

"The ambition I don't think is an endline. Consistency, commitment, and collective work that will make us better."

"That's the task I'm doing here. We're starting a new chapter!" the 40-year-old told Record.

Ronaldo, whose previous contract expires on June 30, 2025, joined Al Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United.

The move made the former Real Madrid star the highest-paid athlete in the world.

According to Forbes, Ronaldo has been at the top of the list for the past three years.

Despite scoring 93 goals in 105 games for Al Nassr, Ronaldo has never won a major trophy, only winning the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 since his arrival.

Al Nassr was runner-up at SPL in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons, while they ended up in third-placed disappointing last season.

However, Ronaldo lifted his third title with Portugal earlier this month. He scored in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain earlier this month.

"I have a lot of titles with the club, but nothing is better than winning for Portugal," Ronaldo said in tears after lifting the trophy.

The new deal with Al Nassr will allow the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to continue on track reaching a milestone of 1,000 goals in his career.

He has scored 794 goals at the club and 138 goals for Portugal for the total to 932.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo turned down an offer to play at the 2025 Club World Cup with other clubs to prepare for the new season with Al Nassr.

He will have a new coach considering the club headquartered in Riyadh announced this week Stefano Pioli's departure after less than a year on duty.
