India Open 2025: Dejan/Fadia Without Obstacles

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti did not encounter any obstacles at all when they made their debut at the India Open 2025.

Dejan/Fadia easily won two straight games 21-12 and 21-16 against Danish representatives Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch, to break into the second round of the tournament, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, afternoon WIB.

The India Open 2025 was the first tournament that Dejan/Fadia had undertaken after being overhauled by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in December 2024.

"Indeed, we are a new couple. So, earlier we tried to focus on ourselves first to be able to play with the game plan that has been prepared," said Dejan in an official statement.

Dejan previously played outside the PBSI National Training Center with Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. He was then withdrawn from the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, Fadia was already there and spent more time playing in women's doubles. However, he has experienced playing in mixed doubles.

Fadia said that returning to the mixed doubles sector gave him a challenge. For that, he also hopes that Dejan can guide him.

"The rain just has to be more fussy to remind because I haven't played mixed doubles for a long time. The pattern of the game is very different. In mixed doubles I have to move my legs faster," he said.

Dejan/Fadia are one of the two mixed doubles that played in this event. They took part with another debutant couple, namely Rinov Rivaldy/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.

Unfortunately, Rinov/Lisa immediately lifted the suitcase in the first half. They gave up against the fourth seed from Malaysia, Goh Son Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie.
