JAKARTA - Grab Indonesia has partnered with the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), to hold a driving safety training for 1,052 two-wheeled Driver Partners in five cities in Indonesia.
Located at the Jatijajar Terminal, Depok, and connected hybridally with training taking place in Yogyakarta, Surabaya/Sidoarjo, Medan, and Makassar, participants are equipped with practical knowledge and skills to deal with various situations on the road.
Carrying the theme 'Safer Roads, Stronger Communities Safer Roads, Stronger Communities', this program is part of a joint effort to strengthen the competence of driver partners in driving while cultivating a culture of safe and orderly traffic. This collaboration is also in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Transportation to improve land transportation safety and security.
Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, said that realizing safer land traffic and transportation requires a comprehensive approach and cross-sector collaboration.
"This training is in line with the Government's commitment to strengthen a culture of safe and orderly driving. We appreciate the collaboration between GrabIndonesia and AISI in equipping two-wheeled Driver Partners with knowledge and skills that can be applied in daily activities," he said, in his speech, in Depok, West Java, Tuesday, July 28.
In Depok alone, a total of 300 Grab partners participated in the event. Partners conducted testing to special training that had indeed been prepared by Grab Indonesia.
On the same occasion, Grab Indonesia Chief Executive Officer, Neneng Goenadi, said that for the company, safety is the Foundation and the benefits are certainly felt by partners to passengers, as well as families at home.
"Driver partners are not just participants in training but road safety guards. Of course, today's event is Grab's long-term commitment," he said.
He also said Grab never cut the revenue share (commission) by more than 8 percent, and also never violated the Minimum Tariff Limit (TBB) according to the applicable provisions. Therefore, trips with minimum rates or without a difference above the TBB are not subject to commission.
Meanwhile, in terms of strengthening driving competence, Hari Budianto, Secretary General of AISI, said that driver partners have a high level of mobility and face a variety of road conditions every day.
"Training like this is important to strengthen competence, discipline, and compliance with traffic regulations. We hope that through this activity, partners can drive safely and comfortably in every trip and also be a driver of a culture of safe and orderly traffic," said Hari.
