The Truck Driver Who Was A Member Of The Metro Police Patwal Until He Died Becomes A Suspect

JAKARTA - The police have named the truck driver with the initials CS as a suspect in the accident that caused the death of Iptu Dwi Setiawan. This is done by the police after conducting a case.

"We have raised the perpetrator to a suspect status", said Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Friday, October 29.

From the results of the case, continued Sambodo, the truck driver was proven negligent when driving. Because he was driving while playing on his cell phone.

"While at the TKP (crime scene) the driver received a call from someone and answered the phone", said Sambodo.

This negligence led to a fatal accident. "He's playing with his cellphone, so he can't concentrate, he loses concentration", he continued.

Therefore, when Iptu Dwi Setiawan tried to overturn the truck, the driver turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction. Until finally, grazed Iptu Dwi Setiawan to death.

Thus, in this case, the suspect is accused of Article 310 paragraph 4 LLAJ. The suspect is also threatened with imprisonment for 6 years.

A member of the Patrol and Escort Units of the Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police, Iptu Dwi Setiawan is known to have died due to an accident on the Jakarta Toll Road section towards Cikampek KM 13+400. The reason is that the truck grazed Iptu Dwi Setiawan's motorbike.

The deadly accident began when Iptu Dwi Setiawan was tasked with escorting a group of the Metro Jaya Police supervision team for activities in Bekasi, this afternoon.

At that time, Iptu Dwi Setiawan tried to direct the truck to move to the slow lane on the left side. However, the truck driver steered the steering wheel to the right and eventually grazed Iptu Dwi Setiawan to death.
