In NTT, KPK Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli Reveals Eight Corruption-Prone Areas

KUPANG - Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Lili Pintauli Siregar, reminded all regional heads in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to avoid corruption.

Lili Pintauli during her visit to NTT revealed that there are at least eight areas that are prone to corruption. This area should be avoided by regional heads.

"KPK has identified eight corruption-prone points that must be avoided about areas of work that have been carried out by local governments", said KPK Deputy Chairwoman, Lili Pintauli Siregar, at the Coordination Meeting for the Integrated Corruption Eradication and Submission of Certificates from PLN and Regional Governments in NTT Province, in Kupang, reported by Antara, Monday, October 25.

She mentioned eight identified corruption-prone points, namely planning, budgeting, licensing, procurement of goods and services, asset management, management of state civil servants, tax revenue, and village fund management.

Lili said regional heads of course also understand these corruption-prone areas so it is necessary to take integrated prevention steps.

"The practice of corruption at these vulnerable points must be minimized or if it can be stopped", she said.

Furthermore, Lili also reminded regional heads throughout NTT to together with their ranks avoid unlawful practices such as extortion, gratification, or other interests that have the potential to lead to corrupt practices.

The KPK, he said, also continues to support the administration of regional governments to monitor and provide corrective solutions.

Lili emphasized that the KPK has never plunged regional heads into corrupt practices and so on.

"The most important thing is that let's prevent corruption and together we can create a better life for the people", she said.

The coordination meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of NTT Josef Nae Soi, Chair of the NTT Regional House of Representatives Emelia Nomleni, Head of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office Yulianto, and regional heads from 22 regencies/cities throughout NTT as well as regional leaders and ranks of PT PLN (Persero).
