NTB - The police found a bright spot in the alleged abuse case that led to the death of an Al-Aziziyah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) student with the initials NI from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili revealed that the bright spot came from the findings of a witness who had communicated with the victim who was 13 years old before undergoing medical treatment in the East Lombok area.
"So, this victim contacted one witness before being taken to East Lombok, reporting being beaten by a friend," said Regi in Mataram, Monday, December 23, as reported by Antara.
However, the current obstacle is the presence of the witness. The police received information that the witness is now abroad working as a migrant worker.
"During the examination, the Islamic boarding school gave us information, this witness went to become PMI (Indonesian Migrant Workers)," he said.
However, Regi ensured that the handling of this case continued to reveal the cause of the death of the female student with the initials NI.
In handling this case, the police have pocketed the results of the NI victim's autopsy. In addition, the fulfillment of this investigation file was obtained from witness statements, from female students and boarding school administrators.
There was also a request for information from criminal experts as well as psychologists and health workers in East Lombok Regency who had provided medical treatment for victims before finally dying.
Santriwati NI died after undergoing intensive treatment at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr. Raden Soedjono, East Lombok Regency, Saturday 29 June.
