Task Force Asks Apparatus To Take Strict Action On Counterfeiters Of PCR Test Results

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force asked the authorities to take firm action against those who falsified PCR test results, because they could endanger public safety and health.

"Authorities do not hesitate to enforce regulations in accordance with existing laws so that there are no violations," said the spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 21.

He said that in handling the pandemic in various countries, including in Indonesia, there needed to be good cooperation between the government, regional governments, and also the community.

"Efforts to falsify testing in the context of screening will certainly endanger the community itself," he said.

Therefore, the COVID-19 Task Force requested that these counterfeits or violations be avoided because they could endanger the safety and health of people who are traveling.

In order to expedite the journey of the community, Wiku said, the government continues to work on preparing the infrastructure for the digitization of PCR documents.

"The implementation of digitizing the PCR document is indeed in order to increase the speed of inspection so that the journey is really smooth," he said.

Wiku admits that not all regions in Indonesia have the same capacity to implement digitization.

"But we are trying hard to help prepare infrastructure and personnel readiness in the regions so that the process of using technology in order to accelerate economic recovery and maintain health in the community can be carried out properly," he said.

Previously, Metro Jaya Police investigators revealed cases of the practice of selling vaccine certificates, PCR swab tests, and fake antigen swab tests with suspects RAR and TM.

The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus said the two suspects marketed the fake letter-making services through social media.

"His modus operandi is to offer a fake antigen, PCR, and vaccine results through his Facebook page under the name Rani Maharani," said Yusri.

After receiving the order, the suspect will use the names of certain clinics to fake vaccine letterheads, antigen swabs, and PCR at various prices.
