Mantu Jokowi's Order: The District Head Of Medan Must Bring Residents Positive For COVID-19 To Integrated Isolation

JAKARTA - Mayor Bobby Nasution sent an important message to all sub-district heads in Medan City. If there are residents in the sub-district who are confirmed positive for COVID-19, the sub-district heads are obliged to immediately take the patient to the integrated isolation belonging to the Medan City Government.

For information, the integrated isolation belonging to the Medan City Government is at the Novotel Soechi Hotel and the Center for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel (P4TK).

"Starting today, take a persuasive and humane approach so that residents who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 will enter the Medan City Government's integrated isolation", said President Jokowi's son-in-law, represented by the Regional Secretary, Wiriya Alrahman, at the Medan City PKK Building, Thursday, October 14.

Wiriya said, bringing residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 was done to prevent transmission. He said that handling and monitoring would be more effective if the positive residents were treated in an integrated isolation area rather than self-isolation at home.

"There is still a lot of space in our integrated isolation area. Currently, only 8 people are being treated in the Medan City Government's integrated isolation", said the Regional Secretary.

Indeed, he continued, Medan is currently at PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) Level 2. There is a relaxation of restrictions, both for social and economic activities. However, the Secretary stressed that this condition does not make them weak and careless.

"COVID-19 is still there and will attack when we are weak and careless", the Secretary of State said.

The Regional Secretary explained, during the last few days there have been developments that need to be considered. He detailed, on October 10 the number of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 was 12, October 11 10 cases, October 12 12 cases, and October 13 increased sharply to 31 cases.

"From October 10 to 12, no one died, but on October 13, one person died. This is a warning for us", said the Regional Secretary, giving an example of the incident in Singapore where COVID-19 cases had dropped but recently spiked sharply.

The Regional Secretary also reminded the sub-district heads to work and continue to monitor in their respective areas. He emphasized that the sub-district head must have data on the names and addresses of residents who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and collaborate with the Puskesmas to carry out tracing and testing.

"The mayor also wants the sub-district heads to monitor and provide reports on the handling of Covid-19 in their respective areas", said the Regional Secretary as quoted from the Medan City Government website.
