KPK Determines Former Jasa Marga Managing Director Desi Arryani As Suspect

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the former President Director of PT Jasa Marga, Desy Arryani as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of a fictitious project at PT Waskita Karya.

KPK chairman Firli Bahuri said Desi was suspected of committing corruption while still serving as the former Head of Division III / Civil / II of PT Waskita Karya.

"After finding sufficient preliminary evidence of a suspected corruption crime, the KPK conducted an investigation and raised the status of the case to an investigation with three suspects," said Firli Bahuri during a press conference at the KPK Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 23. .

Apart from Desi, the KPK also named two other people as suspects. They are the former Head of Control Section at Division III / Civil / II PT Waskita Karya Jarot Subana; and former Head of Project and Head of Control Section at Division III / Civil / II PT Waskita Karya Fakih Usman.

Previously in 2018, the KPK had named two suspects, namely the Head of Division II of PT Waskita Karya for the 2011-2013 period Fathor Rachman and Head of Finance and Risk Division II of PT Waskita Karya for the period 2010-2014 Yuly Ariandi Siregar.

In this case, the five suspects were suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption that could harm the state related to the implementation of fictitious subcontractor work on a project undertaken by Division III / Civil / II PT Waskita Karya during 2009-2015.

At least 14 infrastructure projects are included in this case. Among them are the Kualanamu Airport project, Medan; JORR toll road section W1 for Kebon Jeruk-Penjaringan Paket 8 and Ramp on / off Kamal Utara; construction of the Merak-Balaraja Flyover; construction of the Cinere-Jagorawi Toll Road Section 1 East; Kali Pesanggrahan normalization project package 1; and construction of the Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa toll road package 2.

Furthermore, the three new suspects are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

"For the purposes of investigation, the KPK detained five suspects for the first 20 days from 23 July 2020 to 11 August 2020," said Firli.

The five suspects will be detained separately. Desi will be detained at the South Jakarta Police Detention Center and Jarot Subana at the East Jakarta Police Detention Center.

Furthermore, Yuly Ariandi and Fakih Usman at the Class I Detention Center for the KPK, Pomdam Jaya Guntur Branch, and Fathor Rachman were detained at the Class I Detention Center, East Jakarta, KPK Branch at the KPK Red and White Building.
