JAKARTA - The Technical Team for the Special Staff of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Danasmoro Brahmantyo said Sukardi Malik, an honorary teacher who lives in Mujur Village, Central Lombok Regency, was surprised when Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Makarim visited his house.

Moreover, the visit was carried out without a plan or impromptu when Nadiem made a working visit to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"(Nadiem's visit, ed) was impromptu. He (Sukardi, ed) did not expect a minister to come to his house," said Danasmoro during a conversation with VOI, Thursday, October 7.

The selection of Sukardi's house began when Nadiem made a working visit in West Nusa Tenggara and carried out an agenda of visits to a number of places.

"Then after Isya went to the Qomarul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Bagu and continued to Mr. Sukardi Malik's house because the location is still close to Central Lombok Regency," said Danasmoro.

He then revealed that the selection of Sukardi's house was also based on data obtained from the Directorate General (Directorate General) of Teachers and Education Personnel (GTK) of the Ministry of Education and Culture. In addition, the honorary teacher turned out to have served over 15 years who was 50 years old and was a participant in the selection of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) PPPK.

Meanwhile, Nadiem told his experience while staying at Sukardi's house. He will not forget the moment when he stayed at the house of an honorary teacher for the first time.

"That night, I went and stayed at the house of an honorary teacher and it was the first time," said Nadiem after monitoring the Face-to-face School (STM) at the Dasan Baru School, Central Lombok.

The former CEO of GoJek Indonesia said Sukardi has been teaching for 25 years and is over 50 years old. During his stay, Nadiem said Sukardi talked a lot about his experiences while teaching.

"He discussed with me and his stories were amazing for 25 years," he said.
