JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD) is again holding a discussion meeting on the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD) in Bogor, West Java. The discussion was held at the Grand Cempaka Hotel, Cipayung.
Acting Secretary of the DPRD DKI Augustinus explained the reason why DPRD often held budget meetings in Bogor, instead of using the meeting room in the DPRD building.
"This is indeed the same as last year, in Bogor the budget discussion. The consideration from the leadership of the council is to ask for it in an open space. Well, there are all glass (windows) here," Augustinus said when contacted, Thursday, October 7.
Actually, said Augustinus, the DPRD had tried to discuss the preparation of the 2021 DKI Accountability of Regional Budget Implementation (P2APBD) at the office, Kebon Sirih. However, the large number of meeting participants made board members worried about the potential for COVID-19 transmission.
"Yesterday, we tried to discuss the P2APBD in the office. Oops, it was too crowded. Still, the assistants of the head of the regional work unit still came," said Augustinus.

The budget discussion meeting was held for two days until Friday, October 8, 2021. The agenda for the meeting included discussions and deepening of the draft General Policy for Revising the Regional Budget and the Priority and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUPA-PPAS) for the Revised 2021 Regional Budget (APBD).
Then, discussion and deepening of the draft General Policy of the Regional Budget and the Priority and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) for the 2021 APBD Amendment. This discussion is carried out in each commission.
After that, the DKI Provincial Government compiled inputs and suggestions from the DPRD regarding changes to the 2021 APBD to be further ratified. "Later on October 13, we will carry out an MoU between the executive and the legislature," said Aga.
As is known, the DKI DPRD began holding meetings at the Puncak area hotel since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The material discussed there often intersects with the budget.
For example, the DPRD discussed the General Policy for Revising the Regional Budget as well as the Priority and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUPA-PPAS) for the 2020 APBD Change on October 21, 2020.
Then, the DPRD has also discussed the APBD General Policy and the 2021 Regional Budget Priority and Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) on November 4, 2020.
The main reason is that the DPRD is worried about the potential for higher COVID-19 transmission if it holds a meeting in the DPRD Building which is closed from the outside air.
Meanwhile, the DPRD considers the meeting location in Bogor to minimize the spread of the coronavirus because it is spacious, the air is cool, and can bring peace.
