Steal Employer's Safe, Home Guard Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - Three safekeeping thieves with the initials HS (34), JS (41) and YB (40) have been arrested by members of the Kebon Jeruk Police Buser. The three of them broke into the house of suspect HS' employer.

However, before they could enjoy the loot, the three perpetrators were caught by the police. The three perpetrators were arrested after the victim's home owner reported to the Kebon Jeruk Police Headquarters.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of AKP Pradita said that the incident began when the perpetrator HS was trusted by his employer to wait for the house because the victim was about to leave for a long time.

"Because the owner of the house left him, HS was desperate to steal the safe belonging to his employer," he said when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, September 29.

After getting the safe, HS took out the safe box with JS.

"Both HS and JS hoped that the safe contained gold and money that was kept by their employer. But both of them had difficulty opening the safe, both of them wanted to sell the safe for Rp. 1 million," he said.

Then the safe was bought by YB to be dismantled. YB is a friend of HS who is an expert in opening safes.

"This safe has been bought by YB. But out of curiosity, HS and JS asked YB to open the safe to find out its contents," he said.

After they opened the safe, it turned out that the object only contained a house certificate and house keys.

"It only contains two house certificates, house keys, and so on," he said.

As a result of their actions, the three perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a threat of 7 years in prison.
