JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission X, Abdul Fikri Faqih, asked schools holding Face-to-face Learning (PTM) to coordinate with the COVID-19 Task Force team in their area.

This appeal follows data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) as of Wednesday, September 22, that 2.77 percent or around 1.301 clusters occurred during face-to-face learning (PTM) was opened.

"Continue to coordinate with the COVID-19 team in their respective regions," said Fikri, Thursday, September 23.

The PKS Party politician reminded that schools holding PTMs should not run alone because the new COVID-19 cluster still threatens. Moreover, there are several schools where students are found to be positive for COVID.

"Keep pushing, don't slack off coordination with the COVID-19 team," he said.

In addition, from 1.301 clusters that occurred during PTM, it was also found that 7.287 educators and education personnel were exposed to COVID-19. Therefore, the House of Representatives Commission X encourages that vaccination of teachers can be prioritized and accelerated before conducting this PTM.

Because, said Fikri, teaching staff are very vulnerable to being exposed to COVID-19 when teaching during this pandemic. Because in addition to the age factor, there are also congenital diseases that make it difficult for them to be exposed.

"In my opinion, teachers and education personnel are prioritized, rushed, prioritized, prioritized," he said.
