JAKARTA - A total of 1,200 street vendors (PKL) and small stalls affected by the COVID-19 pandemic received cash assistance from the National Police through the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

The assistance was directly given by the Head of the Sumda Central Jakarta Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Widi, to representatives of street vendors and small stalls at the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters.

"The requirements are very easy. Traders must have a DKI Jakarta ID card and register themselves through the Babinkamtibmas of each Sector Police. After they pass the verification, they will receive this assistance. Of course, they must meet the requirements that they have not received any assistance," said Grand Commissioner Adjutant Widi to VOI at the location, Monday 20 September.

The target of this assistance is given to 4,500 street vendors and small stalls. Meanwhile, if the traders do not meet the target, the aid funds will be handed back to the state.

"If until December the target of 4,500 traders is not distributed, the money will be returned to the state," he said.

The distribution of cash assistance to street vendors and stalls provided to the state through the National Police is distributed by the Resort Police. For traders affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, registering is very easy.

"You must have a DKI ID card and it will be verified with BPUM. So if the data (assistance) has not been paid, we can immediately pay (cash assistance). The convenience is that they immediately receive cash, it's not complicated, bureaucracy is easy," he said.

Grand Commissioner Adjutant Widi appealed to street vendors and stalls who want to register to register at the Babinkamtibmas at the Polsek level in the neighborhood.

"Quickly register through Babinkamtibmas in each region, so that small traders can immediately get this assistance," he said.

Meanwhile, Mardiana, one of the frozen food vendors at Gunung Sahari Market, was happy to receive financial assistance from the National Police. He said the registration process was quite easy.

"I was offered by LMK Gunung Sahari and filled out the form by attaching a photocopy of my ID card and place of business. Registration is not difficult. It's only been a few days. It's been my first time getting help," said the resident of Karang Anyar, Sawah Besar District.

He also appreciated the steps the government has given to help traders.

"Thanks to the National Police Chief, thank God we got help. Hopefully, other traders can too. Because this assistance really helps us with capital so that we can meet the needs of life during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
