KKB Again Burns Community Health Centers, Schools And Village Halls In The Okhika District Of The Bintang Mountains Of Papua

JAYAPURA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is at it again. KKB burned public facilities ranging from health centers, housing for health workers, schools, teachers' homes to the village hall of the Okhika District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua.

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, said that at 13.30 WIT, the Bintang Mountains Police received a public report regarding the KKB attack.

“There were burnings of a number of public service facilities consisting of puskesmas, housing for health workers, elementary and junior high schools, teachers' houses and village halls carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). Receiving the report, joint TNI-Polri personnel and the Nemangkawi Task Force coordinated to go to the TKP (the crime scene)," Kamal told reporters in his written statement, Tuesday, September 14.

The Nemangkawi Task Force is now pursuing the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

"We regret this incident, public service facilities that we must protect together for the sake of development progress were burned by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The Joint TNI-Polri apparatus will continue to pursue the perpetrators who disrupt security stability in Papua," continued Kamal.

It was also explained that the location of the burning by KKB was very far from Jayapura and could be reached by plane for 1 hour. This was conveyed regarding the XX PON event in the near future.

"Soon, the XX Papua PON 2021 will be held, so let's work together to keep the Kamtibmas situation safe and conducive so that the implementation of the PON can run safely and successfully," he said.
