Case Investigation Tariff In Lampung, Stepanus Robin Asks For 'Dowry' Of IDR 2 To Azis Syamsudin, Paid In Instalment

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Stepanus Robin Pattuju is known to have asked for a dowry of IDR 2 billion from Deputy Speakers of the House of Representatives (DPR) Azis Syamsudin and Aliza Gunado.

The money is used as a tariff in the management of the KPK investigation process in Central Lampung.

"The defendant and Maskur Husain agreed to take care of the case involving Azis Syamsudin and Aliza Gunado as long as they were given a sum of IDR 2 billion from each. With an advance of IDR 300 million", said the prosecutor reading the indictment at the Corruption Court, Monday, 13 September.

In the lobbying process, Aziz Syamsudin agreed. Until finally, the down payment was sent by Aziz via transfer.

Furthermore, the defendant also received 100 thousand United States (US) dollars from Aziz Syamsudin on August 5, 2020. The money was given at the official residence.

"The defendant received in cash an amount of USD 100.000 from Azis Syamsudin at Azis Syamsudin's official residence on Jalan Denpasar Raya 3/3, South Jakarta", said the prosecutor.

The handover of the money continued at the end of August until March 2021. In which, the defendant received money from Azis Syamsudin and Aliza Gunado in the amount of 171.900 Singapore dollars or IDR 1.863 billion.

The bribe money was then divided in half to Maskur Husain. So to take care of Azis Syamsudin's case, the defendant received around IDR 799 million.

Meanwhile, Stepanus Robin Pattuju was charged with Article 12 letter a in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption (hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Corruption Law) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 and Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 11 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 and Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
