JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango said Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir spoke about the potential for criminal acts of corruption in BUMN when he arrived at the KPK Red and White House, Wednesday, July 8.

Although he mentioned that Erick had talked about the potential for corruption in state-owned companies, said Nawawi, the former INASGOC chairman, did not report a corruption case as he had previously reported in the media.

"Not specifically (mentioning cases, red). Only mentioning spaces (there, ed) the potential for criminal acts of corruption in a number of BUMNs," Nawawi told reporters, Wednesday, July 8.

From Erick's narrative, Nawawi said, the potential for criminal acts of corruption lies in the procurement process, asset sales, or financial transactions. When needed, he emphasized, the KPK is ready to supervise this potential and initiate an investigation if there are allegations of corruption.

"We will continue to monitor the rooms that are informed. It is also possible to carry out investigations," he said.

Previously, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir visited the Red and White House of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Wednesday, July 8. He came and went out through the back door of the KPK building.

To journalists, Erick admitted that he came to the KPK to discuss the National Economic Recovery (PEN). The discussion was conducted with the KPK leadership.

However, he refused to elaborate on the discussion material with the KPK regarding PEN. He chose to avoid questions from the media crew and left the KPK building.

"Discussion on PEN (National Economic Recovery)," said Erick Thohir briefly as he climbed into a black Alphard car with a license plate RI number 45 and took him away from the KPK building, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 8.

It is known, some time ago Erick Thohir once revealed that there were dozens of allegations of corruption in BUMN that were detrimental to the state. "Right now, I have found 53 corruption cases," said Erick in a webinar, Thursday, July 2.

This former entrepreneur said that the Ministry of BUMN had carried out a mapping of companies engaged in public services, business, or a mixture of the two and this happened because there was no clear mapping of the duties of each BUMN.

So, the directors mix corporate business affairs and BUMN duties to serve the public.
