CIKARANG - The Bekasi District Civil Service Police Unit, West Java, detained nine out of dozens of commercial sex workers (PSK) while waiting for customers in several places, Thursday, September 9 evening.

"They are busy hanging out in a dimly lit shop, topsy-turvy, some are trying to escape, entering ditches and falling in the fields", said Head of Bekasi Regency Civil Service Police Unit, Dodo Hendra Rosika, in Cikarang, as reported by Antara, Friday, September 10.

He said raids by officers last night were carried out in several areas ranging from Cikarang, Kedungwaringin to Sukatani District.

From these locations, the dozens of self-comfort women managed to escape from the officers, even in Sukatani District the officers were unable to arrest any of them because they were suspected of knowing the raid plan by the officers.

"We suspect that someone leaked this raid, so when we arrived at the location there was no activity there, there were only a few but they immediately disappeared, fleeing to the rice fields", he also said.

From the results of last night's raid, he said, officers also secured some pieces of evidence allegedly used by prostitutes when accompanying "massed" men, namely contraceptives and strong medicine for magic wipes.

In addition, nine women who were arrested were then recorded and taken by the Bekasi District Social Service officer to a rehabilitation center in Sukabumi.

"We routinely carry out this control every week, but it always leaks like what happened in the Sukatani area last night", he said again.

Based on the confession of one of the women, they often serve mashers in dimly lit stalls along the road from the Cikarang sub-district to Kedungwaringin.

"Initially they admitted that they were not prostitutes, after being pressed they finally admitted it. Some came claiming to be their husbands, but were unable to show valid evidence, classic reasons", he said again.

Secretary of Bekasi Regency Civil Service Police Unit, Deny Mulyadi, said that this activity to control sex workers was routinely carried out by officers every week, but the timing could not be determined to avoid information leakage.

"This activity was carried out spontaneously for fear of leaking, so it's time to adjust", he said.

Deni said that most of the women caught in the raids were aged 18-40 years. They are not native residents of the Bekasi Regency. These covert prostitution activities are disguised as massage parlors, but some are carried out openly by stopping passing vehicles.
