Jokowi's Performance In Overcoming The Pandemic Is Considered Good According To The SPIN Survey, PDIP: Indonesia Is Quite Good Compared To Other Countries

JAKARTA - The survey agency from the Indonesian Survey & Polling (SPIN) said that the public assessed President Joko Widodo's performance in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Responding to this, senior PDI-P politician Hendrawan Supratikno agreed that Indonesia under the Jokowi administration was indeed able to handle COVID-19 quite well compared to several other countries.

"Yes, compared to several other countries with comparable complexity, we are quite good", said Hendrawan, Thursday, September 9.

However, the member of House of Representatives Commission XI reminded Indonesia not to be complacent. Because, he said, there are still weaknesses in coordination in handling COVID-19.

"The pandemic is still around us. We must remain vigilant and build a reliable risk mitigation system", said Hendrawan.

As previously reported, the survey agency from the Indonesian Survey & Polling (SPIN) surveyed the performance of the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the majority of people still think that the government's handling of the pandemic is still very good.

"Some respondents, an aggregate of 46.6 percent responded positively to the government's performance", said Director of SPIN, Igor Dirgantara, in the online release of the Findings of the 2024 Election Figures National Electability Survey online, Wednesday, September 8.

According to Igor, this result is a very good form of achievement in the context of performance. Because, he said, without much need for imaging such as the installation of billboards, the government's performance is still seen by the public as very good.

Even so, Igor said there was still 24 percent of respondents who answered negatively about the government's performance in dealing with the pandemic.

"Meanwhile, 27.7 percent of respondents did not see any change in performance in dealing with the pandemic over the last 2 years", he explained.
