Former Regent Of The Talaud Islands, Sri Wahyumi, Immediately Trial At The Manado Corruption Court

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has transferred the case file of the former Talaud Islands Regent, Sri Wahyumi Maria Manalip, regarding his alleged gratification to the Manado Corruption Court on Wednesday, September 8 or today.

"KPK Prosecutor, Andry Lesmana, has transferred the case file of the defendant Sri Wahyumi Maria Manalip to the Corruption Court at the Manado District Court", KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, told reporters, Wednesday, September 8.

After the file was transferred, Maria Manalip's detention is now under the authority of the Manado Corruption Court. "During the trial process, the defendant was entrusted with the place of detention at the North Sulawesi Police Detention", said Ali.

"Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Team will wait for the appointment of the panel of judges and the determination of the day of the trial with the agenda of reading the indictment", he added.

Meanwhile, in this case, Maria Manalip was charged with Article 12B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code or Article 11 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Previously, the KPK again named the former Talaud Regent, Sri Wahyumi Manalip, as a suspect in the gratification case related to an infrastructure work project.

At that time, she had just breathed free air from the Tangerang prison on Wednesday, April 28 because she was proven to have accepted bribes.

In this case, Sri was named a suspect in receiving gratuities after examining 100 witnesses and confiscating some pieces of evidence related to this case. The receipt of money she did reach IDR 9.5 billion.
