JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Province has implemented limited face-to-face learning (PTM) in 610 schools for one week. In the first week of face-to-face schooling, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claimed that no COVID-19 cases had been found.

"Now there are 610 schools participating (face-to-face learning, ed). In just five days, there have been no findings," said Anies on Saturday, September 4.

Even so, he continues to carry out monitoring and assessments. There are two assessments carried out, namely an infrastructure assessment and an assessment for parents, teachers, and school principals.

"If the two assessments have passed they can join the PTM as well. So now we are doing that so hopefully, there will be more schools that can do face-to-face learning," said Anies.

However, the DKI Provincial Government temporarily suspended PTM in one school, namely SDN 05 Jagakarsa for violating the rules for implementing health protocols.

Head of the DKI Education Office, Nahdiana, said that her party temporarily suspended PTM there after receiving a video showing a violation of health protocols. Then, Disdik DKI investigated the truth.

"It was temporarily suspended because it did not comply with the applicable provisions and procedures to be re-evaluated. This became shared learning for each education unit to comply with the process stipulated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office and to comply with the health protocol discipline, especially for the safety of children and other school residents," said Nahdiana.

Nahdiana said that the temporary suspension of Phase 1 Limited PTM has been stated in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office Number 883 of 2021 concerning the Establishment of Education Units that Implement Limited Face-to-face Learning Mixed Learning Phase 1 during the PPKM Period.

It was stated that education units that did not carry out the obligation to protect health for the citizens of the education unit (implementing strict health protocols) would temporarily suspend face-to-face learning activities, limited to stage 1 mixed learning.

After being suspended, Nahdiana said that her party would carry out the verification process again until SDN 05 Jagakarsa was declared ready to carry out limited PTM again.

"We will continue to be committed to monitoring and evaluating so that something similar does not happen again," she concluded.

PTM in 610 schools in Jakarta is conducted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then, on Tuesday and Thursday, the school environment was sprayed with disinfectant. The method of implementing learning in Jakarta is currently done through mixed learning, namely learning in class and learning online.
