Teachers And Students Compact For Violating Health Protocol, 4 Schools In Sorong Papua Rebuked By COVID-19 Task Force

SORONG - The Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force Team, West Papua Province, conducted inspections and gave warnings to four schools that did not comply with health protocols.

The schools that were warned by the Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force Team were SD Negeri 2, SD Inpres 17, SMP Negeri 9, and SMA Negeri 3 Sorong City.

The Field Coordinator for the Supervision of the Sorong City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Fenty Hendri Talane, said that his party carried out inspections to check the health protocols at the four schools.

According to him, the implementation of the health protocol has not been maximized in four schools. For example, SD Inpres 17 still found teachers and students doing face-to-face learning activities without wearing masks.

In addition, the students who lined up did not keep their distance and the parents of the students who took their children also gathered around.

The team also found that SMP Negeri 9 conducted face-to-face learning activities, but did not provide students with soap and hand washing water.

Likewise, the supervision carried out at SMA Negeri 3 Sorong City, the team found that the school was holding a competition without permission from the COVID-19 handling task force.

"We immediately gave a warning to the schools so that the implementation of health protocols was tightened as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19", he said.

He added that teachers and students who were found not wearing masks reasoned that they were uncomfortable when speaking and breathing during the teaching and learning process.
