Wanting To Distribute Heroin, Pakistani Citizen Killed By Police Hot Tin

JAKARTA - The circulation of narcotics is getting more intense ahead of the turn of the year. Not only involving Indonesian citizens, but also foreigners seem to be taking part. The proof is that the Jakarta Police's Narcotics Detective Directorate revealed a narcotics network from Pakistan with evidence of five kilograms of heroin.

In the disclosure, the suspect with the initials SH (27) who is a Pakistani citizen had to be shot dead. The reason is to fight back when asked for a location for storage.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said firm action against the suspect was in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This is because SH is said to have tried to seize firearms belonging to officers when they were being developed. Even though he was rushed to the hospital, SH's life could not be helped which ended up dying.

"The person concerned (SH) tried to seize the weapons of the members. With measured actions according to the SOP, he was paralyzed by gunfire and rushed to the hospital," said Yusri in Jakarta, Thursday, December 12.

Although SH died in development, it is said that his figure was a major network of the heroin distribution. Because previously, two of his colleagues who were also Pakistani citizens were arrested on a similar case.

Meanwhile, regarding the arrest, it was stated that SH was arrested Wednesday afternoon, December 11, at the Mangga Dua Square shopping center, Central Jakarta. Five kilograms of heroin were found from his hand.

However, to trick the police, SH put the heroin in several packets of milk. Which is then put into a backpack. "The mode is disguised in several packs of Dancow milk and Tropical Slim," said Yusri.

Not only explaining about the arrest process, stories related to firm action against SH were also conveyed. He said that at that time the officer asked him to show the locations where other heroin was stored. Because based on his confession, there are still narcotics stored not far from the location of the arrest.

One of the warehouses is called SH as a storage location. Then the police moved towards the place in question. Unfortunately, when he arrived at the location, the man from Pakistan was no longer cooperative. He tried to grab the officer's weapon until he was eventually forced to be shot dead.

On the same occasion, Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Directorate of Narcotics Research at Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ahmad Fanani added, suspect SH is not the first time he has circulated heroin-type narcotics in Indonesia. From his confession, he had already distributed the prohibited items three times.

In addition, SH did not circulate the heroin carelessly. Given, the majority of users of prohibited goods are middle and upper class because the price is quite expensive when compared to other narcotics.

"The segment that is targeted by heroin is middle to upper class. The price is very fantastic. The middle and lower class can't buy this," said Fanani.

In fact, it is said that the market demand for heroin is quite high. The reason is that the upper middle class are not interested in other narcotics such as methamphetamine and marijuana because they are easily known by the police.

"This is not a new trend, but this is a demand from the middle to upper market. Many people have caught methamphetamine, the upper people don't want to use it and they use heroin," said Fanani.
