Police Arrest 19 Teenagers For Brawl In Penjaringan, North Jakarta

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Resort Police (Polres) arrested 19 teenagers for allegedly planning a brawl on Sunday morning at around 04.00 WIB.

"A total of 19 teenagers were arrested in the Kampung Gusti area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, along with a number of sharp weapons," said Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M. Hari Agung Julianto in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday.

Hari explained that the incident began when officers carried out regional patrols around Jelambar, West Jakarta.

At that time, they received reports from the public regarding a group of suspicious youths who gathered carrying sharp weapons.

"The team immediately moved and passed them in Tubagus Angke. After the pursuit, the teenagers were arrested in Gusti Village, Penjaringan," he said.

During the search, officers found evidence in the form of four sickles and three corbeks that were suspected of being used for brawls.

Furthermore, the dozens of teenagers were taken to the Penjaringan Police Station for further examination.

The police urge parents to better monitor the activities of their children, especially at night, to prevent the involvement of dangerous activities such as brawls.
