The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named the Chairman of the South Jakarta District Court, Muhammad Arif Nuryanta (MAN), as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case handling the corruption case of the cooking oil mafia (migor) which dragged three corporations at the Central Jakarta District Court.

MAN was arrested along with three other people during an operation carried out by investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO. They are WG who is a civil youth clerk at the North Jakarta District Court, as well as two lawyers with the initials MS and AR.

"Investigators brought several people, including WG, a civil young clerk at the Jakut District Court. Then MS and AR, both of them work as advocates," said the Director of Investigation at the AGO's Jampidsus, Abdul Qohar, at a press conference in South Jakarta, Saturday, April 12, 2025.

In addition to arresting the suspects, investigators also searched MAN's house and office. From the search, a sum of money was found allegedly related to the case being investigated.

"MAN, the head of the South Jakarta District Court, was also taken because during the search, some money was found," continued Abdul Qohar.

MAN is known to have served as Deputy Chair of the Central Jakarta District Court. This case began with an investigation into alleged bribery and gratification practices in handling cases in the court.

"After examining a number of witnesses, investigators obtained sufficient evidence that bribery and/or gratification related to the handling of cases at the Central Jakarta District Court," said Abdul Qohar.

Four people have now been officially named as suspects. They consist of elements of judges and advocates who are suspected of being involved in fraudulent practices at the judiciary.
