The Search For King Maker Has Stalled, MAKI Sues KPK Pretrial

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) plans to sue the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) pretrial for the termination of supervision and investigation in order to find King Maker of the fatwa management by Pinangki Sirna Malasari in the Djoko S Tjandra case.

The lawsuit will be filed today, Monday, August 23, 2021, at 11.00 western Indonesia time, at the South Jakarta District Court, Jalan Ampera Raya.

"MAKI will file a pretrial lawsuit against the KPK for the termination of supervision and investigation to find and find out who and the role of King Maker in the alleged corruption case in the management of fatwa by Pinangki Sirna malasari et al, to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the Bank Bali corruption case," MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman wrote in a short message to VOI, early Monday morning.

The following 7 points will serve as material to be conveyed by Boyamin Saiman:

1. MAKI on September 11, 2020, has sent a letter via email to the KPK Number: 192/MAKI/IX/2020 Regarding: Submission of Material Allegations of Corruption Crimes Related to Joko S. Tjandra and Pinangki Sirna Malasari for Use as Supervision Materials;

2. MAKI has been invited by the KPK on September 18, 2020, to deepen information regarding King Maker in the alleged corruption case in the management of fatwa by Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the Bank Bali corruption case and Petitioner I has submitted a transcript of the conversation between Anita Kolopaking and Pinangki Sirna Malasari which are about 140 pages thick which will be used as evidence in the trial of this pretrial submission;

3. MAKI has received a reply letter from the KPK on October 2, 2020, regarding Responses to Public Complaints in response to the submission of material from MAKI based on MAKI's letter dated September 11, 2020. This KPK letter contains a complaint from MAKI as information material for the Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK;

4. The KPK has decided to supervise and coordinate the alleged corruption case in the management of fatwa by Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the Bank Bali corruption case;

5. The Panel of Judges of the Central Jakarta District Court which has decided the case of the defendant Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al in their consideration stated the existence of King Maker as an intellectual actor of Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the corruption case of Bank Bali, but the Panel of Judges stated that they were unable to explore who is the King Maker so that it is the responsibility of the KPK to find out the role of King Maker as an intellectual actor from Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence in the Bank Bali corruption case;

6. The KPK through the Chairperson of the KPK Firli Bahuri on July 30, 2021, stated that it had stopped the supervision of the corruption case in the fatwa administration by Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the Bank Bali corruption case;

7. The action of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in terminating the supervision of the alleged corruption case in the management of a fatwa by King Maker as an intellectual actor from Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from the prison sentence for the Bank Bali corruption case is a form of neglect of the case which has hampered the handling of the case to dismantle and looking for King Maker is as a form of stopping the investigation of Corruption Cases materially, secretly, hanging and causing legal uncertainty in the case of alleged corruption in the management of a fatwa by King Maker as an intellectual actor from Pinangki Sirna Malasari et al to release Djoko Tjandra from a prison sentence Bank Bali corruption case;
