Former Banyan Airport In North Barito Becomes A Self-Isolating Place

JAKARTA - The government of North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan has turned the former Baringin Airport or the old, unused airport on Jalan Pendreh Muara Teweh into an integrated isolation place for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms.

"We provide COVID-19 patients or sufferers who have no symptoms or mild symptoms, but those with moderate and severe symptoms remain in isolation at the Muara Teweh Hospital", said North Barito Regent Nadalsyah on the sidelines of observing the integrated location of self-isolation at Beringin Muara Teweh Airport, Monday.

According to him, currently, the North Barito Regional Disaster Management Agency has set up one large tent and two small tents in front of the VIP room of the Beringin Airport. In addition to the tents erected, it is planned that the airport's VIP room and the terminal room will be used as a place for self-isolations.

The construction of this integrated isolation place, he said, is expected to be able to monitor the nutritional adequacy and health of the patients by the health team.

"We hope that the self-isolation can recover their health soon and make it easier to check and monitor the data from the self-isolations", said Nadalsyah.

The Regent also hopes that people in this area are not afraid to report themselves. "Do not let the symptoms have moderate or severe before checking into health facilities, both Community health center and Regional General Hospital", he said.

Currently, said Nadalsyah, there is a stigma in the community, if you still have mild symptoms, it is better to isolate yourself in their respective homes. "We provide facilities to them, both nutrition coverage and health checks by health workers. If there is no improvement in symptoms and is declared cured, the patient can return to his home", said Nadalsyah.

During the review, the Director of PT Mitra Barito Group, Akhmad Gunadi, provided assistance with 10 dispensers and consumption for patients who were in the newly built integrated self-isolation area.
