Police Arrest Motorcycle Thief Gang In Medan

MEDAN - The Medan Polrestabes team, North Sumatra, arrested four suspects in a gang of motorbike thieves who had taken action 21 times.

"The four arrested perpetrators are AM, K, DHS, and RP," said Medan Police Chief Grand Commissioner Riko Sunarko, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 6.

He said the arrests of the four suspects were based on several community reports, then an investigation was carried out by the Medan Police Satreskrim team.

From the investigation, the team received information that suspect K was in a house on Captain Muslim street, Medan on Wednesday, July 14.

Upon receiving this information, officers immediately went to the location and arrested the suspect.

Further development was carried out and succeeded in capturing the suspects AM, DHS, and RP in the Binjai area.

"From their confession, they have committed 21 thefts. Until now, we are still doing further development. For the theft, the perpetrators admitted selling outside the city, namely Siantar," said Grand Commissioner Riko.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the team also secured evidence in the form of a Yamaha N-Max motorcycle and a Honda Beat.

"The suspects are subjected to Article 363 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code with a threat of 9 years in prison," said the Medan Police Chief.
