Police Died After Mob Attacked In Deli Serdang, North Sumatra Police Investigate

MEDAN - A member of the Belawan Harbor Police, Bripka Joko Albar, who was attacked by the masses for allegedly committing a crime, has died. He died after receiving intensive care at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Medan.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said the police would investigate the death of Bripka Joko Albar after being beaten by residents.

According to him, the Deli Serdang Police, assisted by the North Sumatra Police, will follow up on the case of the death of a police officer who is suspected of being a victim of vigilantism by a group of residents.

However, Hadi added, so far the victim's family has not made a complaint report regarding the brutal action of a group of residents

"The family has not yet made a report to the Deli Serdang Police. However, investigators are continuing to investigate the case of a police officer who died after being beaten by the resident", Hadi said, Friday, August 6.

In the case of the alleged confiscation by the individual, Hadi explained that the victim and the family of the person had agreed to make a statement of peace between the two parties.

"The victim died after undergoing serious treatment for 2 weeks in the hospital since the incident Bripka Joko Albar's condition was unconscious until he finally died", he said.

Bripka Joko Albar was beaten badly by a mob in Pasar V Village Kelapa Garden, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency.

The victim who served in the ranks of the North Sumatra Regional Police was attacked by a mob, accused of stealing a Honda Vario BK 4342 MBD motorbike driven by Winda Lestari (17), a resident of Cinta Rakyat Street, Percut Sei Tuan District.

"There have been several witnesses examined with the victim on the alleged case of the motorbike confiscation", concluded Hadi.
