JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin held a coordination meeting regarding the handling of COVID-19 with regional heads in Greater Jakarta and the central government.

In the meeting also attended by the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, Deputy Governor of Banten Andika Hazrumy, Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan said that his party did not only vaccinate residents with special ID cards for DKI.

"The vaccination in Jakarta, we didn't ask for the ID card, Mr. Vice President. So, even if they are non-DKI residents, they can get vaccinated here", Anies said in a video broadcast on the Vice Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, Wednesday, August 4.

It is known that currently, DKI Jakarta has injected vaccinations to more than 7.6 million people. As many as 30 percent of vaccination recipients in the capital city are residents outside DKI. The non-DKI residents who are mostly vaccinated in DKI are residents of West Java.

Then, Anies said the DKI Provincial Government also carried out mobility control in handling the pandemic, especially during the implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"DKI Jakarta issued a policy for all workers in essential and critical sectors for registration. The company where they work who registered them. Then, they issued a policy of filling out a form from the company, called Worker Registration Certificate (STRP). People can go in and out of Jakarta if they carry the letter", said Anies.

During the meeting, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin advised the local governments (Pemda) of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten to abandon the attitude of regional selfishness in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coordination is very important so that each region does not arise a kind of sectoral ego. As an agglomeration area, high mobility by residents in Greater Jakarta is unavoidable so the potential for the spread of COVID-19 in the region must be anticipated with the right policies.

"The handling of COVID-19 in Jabodetabek cannot be based solely on administrative areas. The handling of COVID-19 in agglomeration areas such as Jabodetabek, both in terms of programs and data, must be carried out in an integrated and integrated manner through good coordination between the Governor of DKI, Governor of West Java, and Governor of Banten", said Ma'ruf.
