JAKARTA - The Mukomuko Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Bengkulu Province, stated that the number of COVID-19 patients declared dead in this area increased by three people, bringing the total to 47 people.

"There are three more COVID-19 patients being treated at the Mukomuko Hospital who died," said Mukomuko District COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson, Bustam Bustomo, in a statement in Mukomuko, reported by Antara, Sunday, August 1.

He said this was related to the development of the number of local residents who tested positive for COVID-19, patients died, active cases of COVID-19 to cases of COVID-19 patients who recovered in Mukomuko Regency since a few days ago.

Bustam Bustomo said that the COVID-19 patient who died had the initials KNS, a 58-year-old male resident of Padang Gading Village, Sungai Rumbai District. This patient was previously treated at a local hospital.

Then the COVID-19 patient who died had the initials FBZ, a 54-year-old male resident of Bandar Ratu Village, Mukomuko City District. This patient is also being treated at a local hospital.

Then the COVID-19 patient who died had the initials SDM, a 69-year-old male resident of Agung Jaya Village, Air Manjuto District. This patient is also being treated at a local hospital.

He confirmed that the three COVID-19 patients who died were buried in accordance with health protocols to prevent transmission and spread of the coronavirus in this area and other patients were buried in public cemeteries in the West Sumatra Province.

It was stated that until now the number of specimens examined was 6,267 samples, as many as 1,643 people of whom tested positive for the coronavirus.

He said, of the 1,643 people spread across 15 sub-districts in this area who were confirmed positive for COVID-19, 47 of them died.
