JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Guspardi Gaus, urged the local government to immediately complete the disbursement of the social assistance budget (bansos) during the extension period of PPKM Level 4 This is because many people have complained about the delay in disbursing social assistance, some of which have fallen last week.

According to Guspardi, the distribution of social assistance for people affected by COVID-19 is still low, due to the lack of good coordination between the central government and regional governments. As well as the lack of responsiveness of the local government in updating recipient data. He said the local government should have been able to update or update the data on the recipients of this social assistance.

“There should be no miscommunication, local governments ask for confirmation from the center for data and aid disbursement. Even though the central government has pushed for the immediate disbursement of social assistance,” said Guspardi, Monday, July 26.

The North Sumatra legislator assessed that every regional government should immediately release a budget to ease the burden on the people. The local government must appear to be at the forefront of serving its people.

Moreover, said Guspardi, currently the Emergency PPKM policy has caused economic problems for affected and vulnerable groups.

"Regional governments have regular budgets, Unexpected Expenditures (BTT), as well as through reallocation of other budget items. For this reason, local governments should have special attention by accelerating the disbursement of budget items for cash and non-cash social assistance immediately," said politicians of the National Mandate Party (PAN).

On the other hand, Guspardi also criticized the central government's efforts to encourage refocusing of APDB. "Meanwhile, the accuracy of recipient data has not been improved," said Guspardi.
