The Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG) via its Instagram account uploaded a video recording of Merapi's incandescent lava avalanche. This video was recorded at 19:00 WIB, Friday, July 16.

Then 98 times to the southwest with a maximum glide distance of 2,000 m, 1 time to the west with a glide distance of 1,000 m, and 3 times to the northwest with a maximum glide distance of 700 m.

"A morphological analysis from the Tunggularum Camera Station shows that the volume of the dome in the southwest sector is 1,830,000m3", said BPPTKG.

Meanwhile, analysis from the Deles3 Camera Station shows the volume of the central dome of 2,796,000 m. The intensity of the earthquake was lower than last week.

In addition, the deformation of Mount Merapi which was monitored using EDM this week showed a distance shortening rate of 8 cm/day.

BPPTKG said that there were no reports of lahars or additional flow in the rivers that originate at Mount Merapi.

"The volcanic activity of Mount Merapi is still quite high in the form of effusive eruption activity. The activity status is set at the standby level," continued BPPTKG.

"The current potential danger is lava avalanches and hot clouds in the Southeast-Southwest sector as far as a maximum of 3 km to the Woro river and 5 km to Gendol, Kuning, Boyong, Bedog, Krasak, Bebeng, and White rivers.
