BANJARMASIN - Head of the Banjarmasin City Health Office, Machli Riyadi, stated that his party is currently running out of stock of the COVID-19 vaccine for the 3rd phase of the vaccination program for the general public.

As a result, the implementation of vaccination at the Public Health Center is temporarily closed until another vaccine is sent from the central government. "Currently the stock of vaccines is empty at the Health Office, we have not received any additions from the central government," he said in Banajrmasin as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

The enthusiasm of residents to be vaccinated began to rise until they had to queue long at the Public Health Center. The city of Banjarmasin so far has 26 health centers and one hospital, namely Sultan Suriansyah Hospital as a location for administering vaccines.

"We hope the residents are patient, we have asked for additional vaccines from the provincial government to be forwarded to the center", he said.

If you have received additional vaccines, the implementation will be maximized again until all the people of Banjarmasin City are vaccinated.

"Because this vaccination is important to form group immunity", he said.

The 3rd stage of the COVID-19 vaccination program is carried out in general with the target age above 18 years. There is no definite data for the vaccination target for the general public because the total population in the provincial capital is around 800 thousand.

"So from the population, we subtract those aged from 17 years and under, because we don't have the data for ages 0-17 this year", said Machli Riyadi.

He also asked people who have been vaccinated, especially those who have not, to continue to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, because COVID-19 cases in the country have increased significantly again, it is also possible that this will happen in Banjarmasin.

Although it is currently stated that there are no areas in Banjarmasin that are in the red zone, there are already six urban villages that are already orange.
