Responding to the high number of not yet smoothly reading the Quran in Banten, the Al Kayyis Foundation initiated free Quran Reading Education. Based on the results of a survey by the Tilawatil Qur'an Development Institute (LPTQ) of Banten Province in 2021, it was recorded that 76.72% of Muslims in Banten had not yet smoothly read the Qur'an, either at a fairly to a very bad level (Kabar Banten, 2021). As a form of concern for access to education, the Al Kayyis Banten Foundation exempted tuition fees and education contributions for 80% of students who came from underprivileged families, especially orphans and poor children.
Since its establishment in 2011, the Al Kayyis Banten Foundation, which was founded with the Decree of the KEMENKUMHAM No. AHU-6941-AH.01.04 of 2011, has committed to play an active role in the education and development of the younger generation, especially orphans and dhuafa, through systematic and structured teaching of the Qur'an. Located on an area of approximately three hectares in Sajira Village, Lebak Regency, Banten, our foundation organizes education equivalent to Junior High School (SMP) and High School (SMA) levels, with a main focus on Al-Qur'an learning as well as the formation of character based on Islamic values.
This is in line with the vision to produce a generation of Qur'ans who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also have noble character and are able to contribute positively to society, nation and state. However, great challenges are still faced by the people of Banten. This data shows the urgent need to increase the literacy of the Qur'an in the Banten region, especially among the younger generation.

In a concrete response to the problem, the Al Kayyis Banten Foundation launched the 'Sibu Children's Movement of Orphans' Hafal Al-Qur'an program in Banten'. This program is designed to provide education and guidance for memorizing the Qur'an for free for six years (SMP and SMA levels) in our Islamic Boarding School.
Through this program, it is hoped that a thousand orphans and poor people will be born who memorize the Qur'an who are able to become role models and agents of change in society. The implementation of this program is planned to start in the 2025 school year, with gradual admission of students for the next six years. We realize that limited infrastructure and teaching resources are a challenge in itself.
Therefore, we really hope for support from local and central governments, stakeholders, as well as donor institutions both nationally and internationally, so that this program can run optimally and have a broad impact on the community. , and make Indonesia proud in the international arena through the practice of noble values of the Qur'an.
"Hopefully this initiative will be an inspiration and a milestone for all elements of society to jointly build a middle Indonesia based on akhlakul karimah," said Kyai Deden Hidayat, S.Pd.I, the caretaker of the cottage.
