Anies Denies Violation Of Emergency PPKM, PT Equity Life Claims Its Office Is In The Essential Sector

JAKARTA - PT Equity Life Indonesia has opened its voice over the incident of an impromptu inspection carried out by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to his office today.

During the inspection, Anies said that Equity Life Indonesia violated the rules because it still ordered its employees to work in the office during Emergency Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).

Corporate Communication of PT Equity Life Indonesia, Yuliarti, claimed that his office had complied with the rules. Because, according to Yuliarti, this insurance company is engaged in the essential sector.

"PT Equity Life Indonesia and its marketing offices are life insurance companies that are included in the essential business sector based on the provisions of the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 15 of 2021 and the Decree of the Governor of DKI Number 875", said Yuliarti.

Therefore, Yuliarti said her company was still implementing work from home (WFH) with a capacity of 50 percent.

"For this reason, we continue to open limited marketing and service offices throughout Indonesia during the implementation of this PPKM restriction. We ensure that in carrying out business and operational activities we always comply with the provisions set by the government", she said.

Yuliarti also admitted that currently her office was temporarily sealed by the DKI Provincial Government. However, no other sanctions have been imposed after the inspection incident. "There is no sanction yet. From the legal side (the company) no one has said anything, really", she said.

It is known, today Anies expressed his frustration when he found that there were still companies outside the essential fields that still enforced employees to work in the office. This was known when Anies inspected the office in the Sudirman area, Central Jakarta.

In uploading a video on his Instagram account, Anies inspected two non-essential offices in the Sahid Sudirman Center building. Anies entered the offices of Ray White Indonesia and PT Equity Life Indonesia and found that a worker had entered.

Anies met with the HRD of the company. Annoyed, Anies said the company had no responsibility and violated the emergency PPKM rules.

"These are irresponsible people. They contain educated people and a group of them violate the rules", said Anies in his Instagram account.

"I told the manager earlier, make rules to protect employees and the owner must be responsible. The owner should not take shelter at home, isolate at home, but the workers are told to go to work", he continued.
